Water Colours

Many of the artists' landscapes reflected his affinity with the northern fells and hills, the peaceful valleys between them, and the coast and lakes. His pictures captured the diversity of the geology and geography of northern England, with scenes of limestone hills, millstone grit fells, and the rugged fells of the Lake District. Hours of studying the natural environment is clearly evident from the way this diverse range of landscapes are captured.
